January 11, 2023

Good Afternoon and Happy 2023 Warren Students, Families, and Staff,

We have a couple of important announcements for the week of January 11th.

I want to thank everyone again for their flexibility and understanding regarding the inclement weather we experienced on Friday, December 23rd. Just a reminder that since December 23rd was switched to an eLearning day, all assigned work is due no later than this Friday, January 13th. Students, you need to complete and submit this work to receive full credit and be counted as present for that day.

December 23rd was our 3rd and final allowable asynchronous eLearning day. Because we are only allowed to have 3 eLearning days where students are not required to meet with their teachers, we will be shifting the eLearning day on February 21st from asynchronous to synchronous eLearning day, which means that students will be required to meet virtually with their teachers on this day. More details will be provided as we get closer to that date. Future weather-related eLearning days will also require students to participate virtually with their teachers.

Just a reminder that students and staff do not attend school on Monday, January 16th, in recognition of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

MSD Warren Township School Board will host its Annual Legislative Forum on Saturday, January 28th, from 9:00 - 11:00 am. This event will be held at the Warren Education and Community Center at 975 North Post Road. Parents, staff, and community members are invited to attend to engage with District and school board leaders, local legislators, and our community on topics related to public education in the current legislative session. No registration is required. Linked here is a flier of the legislators that will be participating.

We had an outstanding 1st semester, and as we start the second half of the 2022-2023 school year, I am looking forward to seeing our students and staff continue to be successful in the classroom, performing on a court, on a mat, in a pool, or on a stage. I also want to take this time to congratulate the 21 Warren Central High School seniors who worked exceptionally hard and were able to graduate in December!

Thank you for your continued support and investment in our Warren students, schools, and staff!

 #Together…#WarrenWill grow our students!

Dr. Tim Hanson, Superintendent of Schools for MSD Warren Township
