November 18, 2020
Good Afternoon Warren Students, Families, and Staff.
We have a few important updates:
Please remember that Friday, November 20th will be our last IN-PERSON day as we transition to VIRTUAL learning until January 19th. Monday, November 23rd and Tuesday, November 24th will be eLearning days or asynchronous days, meaning students will have more flexibility in completing their school work. Teachers will be available during a three hour window for support and communication. Monday, November 30th will begin our VIRTUAL learning or synchronous learning, meaning students will follow their given schedule. To support our students and families, we have created a Transition to VIRTUAL resources webpage, https://www.warren.k12.in.us/o/msd-of-warren-township/page/resources-for-transition-to-virtual. This page will be a centralized resource for information needed for a successful transition. If you do not find what you are looking for, please contact your child’s school. School buildings will remain open and staffed during the VIRTUAL window.
Due to transition to VIRTUAL, we are partnering with our food service vendor, Chartwells to provide meals to all students. Food distribution days will be Tuesdays and Fridays from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at Warren Central High School, Creston, Raymond Park, and Stonybrook Intermediate Middle Schools, and Moorhead Community Resource Center. Tuesday distributions will consist of 4 breakfast meals, 4 lunch meals, and 3 supper meals. Friday distributions will consist of 3 breakfast meals, 3 lunch meals, and 2 supper meals. Menus can be found on our website under Food Service and linked to this email. https://warren.nutrislice.com/menus-eula.
Our Moorhead Community Resource Center will remain open during the VIRTUAL window. If you have needs beyond what is being offered, you can either reach out to your child’s school or contact us through the outreach number, 317-608-0545 or email at MSDWarrenOutreach@warren.k12.in.us.
Warren is partnering with the Ransburg YMCA to provide our families with YMCA ELEARNING CARE at Brookview Elementary. Students, ages 5-14, are eligible to participate in this program from 6:30 AM - 6:00 PM during the VIRTUAL window. For more information including the cost, please see For more information including the cost, please see the flier or visit INDYMCA.org/YouthDevelopment.
To say school is different this year is stating the obvious, but we need to keep our focus on the well being and academic growth of our students. I encourage everyone to take some time to revisit routines and supports. This will help you navigate the upcoming two months. Please reach out if you need any additional support from us.
As always, I thank you for your support, flexibility, and understanding as we work together for our Warren students.
Dr. Tim Hanson, Superintendent of Schools for MSD Warren Township
