Fall has always been my favorite season, a time for making memories at Friday night football games and enjoying the warmth of fall festivals. But it’s more than just these moments—it’s the crisp air, the sense of new beginnings, and the chance to reflect on the achievements we've made together. As we enter this vibrant season, I am filled with pride and enthusiasm for the outstanding work happening throughout our district and community.
At the heart of our district are the people. We are fortunate to have over 750 dedicated teachers and over 750 committed support staff members who have chosen MSD Warren Township as their professional home. Together, we share a singular purpose: supporting the success of our 11,800 remarkable students. Through our 17 schools and programs, the Moorhead Community Resource Center, and Warren Adult Education, we are committed to fostering growth and achievement for every student, from preschool through adulthood.
I am especially proud of the focus and dedication of our elementary teachers and students in literacy. Their outstanding performance on the IREAD-3 assessment highlights not only their hard work but also their passion for cultivating a lifelong love of reading. This success is a testament to the daily efforts happening in our classrooms.
While literacy and numeracy form the core of our academic foundation, we are equally committed to nurturing well-rounded students. This is reflected in our Journey of a Graduate initiative, which emphasizes six essential skills: critical thinking, resilient leadership, adaptable learning, compassionate collaboration, effective communication, and community contribution.
Whether our students choose to pursue higher education, enter the workforce, enlist in the military, or follow a different path, our mission is to equip them with the skills needed to thrive—not just for graduation day, but for a lifetime.
This important work is not easy, but we are doing it together. I am deeply grateful for the continued dedication of our students, staff, families, and community partners. Together, we are building a brighter future for our Warren students.
