Summer Safety
As summer break begins, we want to encourage all families to help students have a safe, positive, and enjoyable summer. Additional free time can create more opportunities for unsupervised activities, so staying connected and engaged with your child’s plans, friendships, and routines can make a meaningful difference. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) has shared the following updated youth curfew expectations for the summer months and reminds families that keeping children safe is a shared community effort.
Please find a video message from IMPD Chief Terry linked here.
We encourage families to review curfew guidelines, stay connected, and help students make the most of a fun, safe, and productive summer.
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As summer break quickly approaches, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) is asking for your partnership in keeping our kids safe and positively engaged during their break from school.
Summer is a time for fun, freedom, and new experiences for our young people. With their additional free time, incidents involving unsupervised juveniles, especially late at night, tend to increase during the summer months. Parents and guardians play the most important role in keeping young people safe, and it’s essential that you stay actively engaged in your children’s activities. Knowing where your children are, who they are with, and what they are doing can significantly reduce the risk of them becoming involved in unsafe situations.
IMPD will continue to do our part to keep our kids safe. We will enforce, as necessary, Indianapolis’s current curfew ordinance for those 17 years of age and younger.
In May 2026, the Indianapolis City-County Council passed Proposal No. 99, establishing temporary adjustments to the City’s youth curfew hours for a 120-day period as Indianapolis prepares for the summer months.
Current Curfew Hours:
17-Years-Old:
• Friday & Saturday: May not be in a public place between
1:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.
• Sunday–Thursday: May not be in a public place between
11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.
15–16-Years-Old:
• Friday & Saturday: May not be in a public place between
11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.
• Sunday–Thursday: May not be in a public place between
9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.
14-Years-Old and Under:
• Every Day: May not be in a public place between
9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.
There are a few key exceptions to curfew hours, including if a child is accompanied by a parent, guardian, or an adult designated by a parent, and traveling to or from a job, school-sanctioned event, or a religious service. A full list of these legal defenses can be found under Indiana Code 31-37-3 Section 3.5.
If juveniles are found violating the curfew, officers may take appropriate action. Some weekends, this may include bringing the juvenile to a designated safe and secure location, where they will be connected to community partners who will be able to provide resources, food, and services.
Thank you for helping us share this message with your family. Keeping our children safe is a shared responsibility that begins at home, but by working together, we can help our children have a safe, fun, and productive summer.
Respectfully,
Chief Tanya Terry
Online Registration for the
2026-2027 School Year

Thank you to the hundreds of families who have already completed online registration for the 2026–2027 school year. This allows us to better staff and schedule for the upcoming school year.
Online registration is now open for all current and new students. We invite you to take a few minutes to complete registration and get your student ready for another great year in Warren Township. Be sure to select the 2026–2027 school year when registering.
You can access the registration site here.
To register a returning student or add a new student, simply log in using your ParentVUE username and password. If you already have a ParentVUE account, you will receive a ParentSquare message with your username and instructions to reset your password if needed. Please do not create a new account, as this may delay your registration and require you to restart the process.
If you do not yet have a ParentVUE account, please contact your school, and they will be happy to help you get started.
ParentVUE also gives you convenient access to your child’s attendance, grades, report cards, and communication with teachers—all in one place.
No Access to Personal Communication Devices
As we prepare for the 2026–2027 school year, we want to make families aware of updated expectations regarding personal communication and electronic devices. These expectations align with the new state law and school policy related to student device usage during the school day.
Effective beginning with summer school and continuing throughout the 2026–2027 school year, all non-school-issued communication and electronic devices must follow the expectations below during school hours:
Personal devices must be powered off and securely stored in a location that is inaccessible to students throughout the school day.
Devices must remain out of sight and may not be used unless specifically authorized by school staff for an approved educational or school-related purpose.
Only school-issued devices should be used during the school day unless otherwise approved.
This includes, but is not limited to:
Cell phones
Earbuds/headphones
Smart watches
Tablets and other personal electronic devices
These expectations are intended to minimize distractions, maximize student engagement, and support a safe, focused, and productive learning environment for all students.
We appreciate your partnership and support as we implement these updated expectations in accordance with state requirements and school policy.
