Looking ahead to prom

On Saturday, April 27, Warren Central Student Council will be hosting the school prom at the Indiana Roof Ballroom in downtown Indianapolis. The theme for this year’s prom is Capture the Moment and the ballroom will be decorated with a luge and garnet-red and gold decorations. Warren Central has hosted their annual prom at the ballroom for decades and is keeping up the long running tradition going strong.

“This is a long standing tradition that we are really proud of, and we really love because it presents itself in a very classy way having it at such an extraordinary place,” student council advisor Amy Moeller said.

The Ballroom will begin admitting guest at 6:30 pm and will stop at 10 p.m. an hour before prom concludes. This year’s ticket sales will be different than the years prior. Students will use their student ID to purchase their tickets as well as enter prom. Once the ID is scanned during ticket sales, an informational email will be sent to the student regarding the tickets. Tickets will go on sale for $60 from April 9 to April 25 during lunch hours in the East Cafeteria and the bookstore, if purchases will be made on a credit card. Checks will not be accepted, and students must have their ID to purchase tickets.

“We want to make sure that our students get to enjoy the Warren Central event. For that reason, we’ve limited outside guests to just come with senior students,” Moeller said.

Included with the ticket price is a full course meal including crusted parmesan chicken, roasted potatoes, house salad and vegetarian lasagna. The ticket also includes access to a desert station and a magic photo mirror which all will be open once admission starts. Popular Indianapolis DJ B. Swift from radio station 96.3 will also be making a return to Warren Central prom.

“Prom is a moment that every high schooler remembers, so we are aiming to make it spectacular,” first vice president Jojo Montgomery said. “Capture the Moment is the perfect theme for prom, and student council will work as hard as we can to make it as amazing as possible.”
