On Dec. 10, “Cyberpunk 2077” will be released, introducing an old genre with a brand-spanking new look. In “Cyberpunk 2077,” players are put into Night City, a dystopian city in the future where technology has evolved the way to make life easier. Technology has advanced so much that humankind has made augments, which are basic human body modifications, that allows seemingly impossible tasks to look easy.

The augments can also be both stylish and deadly. Stylish because they can be customized with a decal to have an impressive appearance and deadly because players can have three weapons that are attached to their augments.

One of the many weapons the player will unlock is the Mantis Blades, which allows the player to unsheathe two Mantis-like blades from the player’s wrists. This weapon has two very helpful uses, combat and transportation. Players can use them to scale up walls like a spider and as well as to rip and tear through enemies.

Playing through the game as V, a mercenary who goes after the one thing everyone wants: an implant for immortality. Before getting on with the main quest, players pick a life for V to live as. Players are able to select what happens in V’s past before his grand adventure for immortality with three choices to choose from: a Nomad - a tribe member who lives in the Badlands, the wasteland like plains that exist outside the mighty walls of Night City, a Street Kid - someone who has grown up in the streets of the city, or a Corporate - one of the big business hot-shots.

CD Projekt RED, the creators of “The Witcher” series, wanted this game to be perfect. So they made edits and reworks and made new additions to it to make it more fun and playable, as well as a visual site to see, for the players who will play. They thought that the game would be more realistic if they hired Keanu Reeves to voice one of the many characters that players meet on their journey, for ingenuity and to keep it from repeating the same generic voices over and over. Another feature that CD Projekt added to the game to make it more fun for the players was to equip the Non-Playable Characters (NPC’s) with Artificial Intelligence (A.I) so that the game runs smoothly and allows beautifully made dialogue.

With a fresh look, new unique weapons and an improved game design, "Cyberpunk 2077" is a game changer in an otherwise old game genre. The game costs $60.00 USD and it’s playable on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and  S, Google Stadia, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, and is available for pre-order.
